Camino is becoming known for offering tours that are a little out of the ordinary, and it is certainly true that Albania is not a well-known destination for travellers from Britain, nor indeed from almost anywhere.
For many years Albania was a closed country, and this is the reason its great treasures are largely unknown to outsiders. But treasures there are – and in abundance. Whether you are interested in archaeology and history, art, natural history or geology, whether you are keen on walking, climbing, watersports or just lying on a beach, Albania has riches to offer.
Above all, the Albanian people are particularly hospitable to visitors, as you will discover if you are fortunate enough to visit this beautiful country.
Camino has had the pleasure of working with Professor Dr. Bashkim Lahi of the Albania Institute of Archaeology and his colleagues in the preparation of this tour and we are extremely grateful for his enthusiasm, encouragement and assistance. He is understandably very keen to show Albania’s archaeological treasures to the outside world. There is too much, of course, to include in this tour alone and we might well plan further tours in the future with different itineraries.
A visit to Albania is something that you will always remember, and I do hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you on our tour in September.
